Welcome to the Student Learning Commons booking system.

In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, all SLC consultations will be held online until further notice. Students who are looking for online support through the Student Learning Commons are encouraged to book a virtual consultation (select option "Virtual Consultations" when selecting a schedule) and/or submit their papers to Write Away at

To get started
: Register for an account by clicking the link to the left. On the registration form, enter your name as it appears on your SFU ID. You must also read and agree with the SLC's consultation policies as described in our Student Consultation Agreement.

Late/no-show policy: Please arrive at the SLC on time for your booked consultation. If you are more than 5 minutes late, you will lose the booked consultation appointment. In addition, if you do not show up for your booked consultation or show up more than 5 minutes late, you will lose the ability to book further consultations on our online booking system until you have spoken with an SLC staff member. After a second occurrence you will lose the ability to book consultations for the remainder of the semester, although you will still be allowed to use our drop-in service.

Cancellation policy: You can cancel an appointment through the online booking system at least 12 hours in advance. If you are canceling less than 12 hours before an appointment please contact the SLC in person or by phone at 778.782.4648, or by email at If you cancel more than three appointments a term you will be blocked from booking further SLC appointments for the rest of the term. You will still be allowed to use our drop-in service.

Confidentiality policy: Consultations are confidential and will be managed in accordance with BC's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The information on this website is collected under the authority of the University Act (R.S.B.C. 1996, c.468, s. 27(4)(a)). It is related directly to and needed by the University for services provided by the Student Learning Commons. The information will be used to maintain a record of consultation with Student Learning Commons staff.
